Scalability was increased from 10 requests to 8,000 requests per second, thanks in large part to performance tuning, code reviews & the well-architected cloud infrastructure that we implemented.

BOOSTED CONVERSIONS
With our development of an end-to-end event registration platform using mobile systems, text messaging and email confirmations, we helped achieve a 70% registration conversion for the SMS program.

Consumer facing, we collaborated closely with AARP to design a data visualization dashboard, complete with the ability to customize resources and plans according to the user's needs. Internally, we also implemented scalable white label platforms for Dr. Phil and Oprah.
THE CHALLENGE
With AARP, we were especially enthusiastic about tackling a more uncharted angle of Aging 2.0—the obstacles in mental health pertaining to loneliness and empty nest syndrome.
In 2013 AARP created a new initiative: Life Reimagined. Its goal was to empower the more than 100 million Americans age 50+ to rediscover themselves at pivotal moments of transition. Life Reimagined would need a fun, easy-to-use, interactive website as its uniting home—built by SF AppWorks.
QA & TESTING
The dramatic change in engagement and usage required significant upkeep from SF AppWorks’ development and quality assurance teams. Discrete testing environments and rigorous process resulted in high quality code, and extensive QA automation worked around the clock to maintain a stable, fast user experience.

SUCCESS
The flagship destination for AARP's Life Reimagined we built got coverage in publications including The Washington Post, Fast Company, and USA TODAY, among others.
But better yet, in just one year, users increased from 150k to 1M, and at its peak there were over 2.4M users on the platform.
